Catalytic process
Manganese dioxide
Elimination of iron and manganese by catalytic oxidation
With our natural granular manganese dioxide, without additives and free of contamination, it is possible to remove iron and manganese dissolved in the water by means of catalytic oxidation. This process has the following advantages:
1. It does not demand an ideal pH environment although there are optimum levels.
2. It transfers its activity to adjacent grains of sand.
3. It does not require regeneration with KMnO4.
How does manganese dioxide work?
The three-layer bed

A second layer of manganese dioxide. The AQUA-MANDIX layer, free of particle contamination, remains active to perform the catalytic action and thus retain the Fe and Mn.
