Adhesives

Adhesives are substances that, applied between the surfaces of two materials, allow for a bond resistant to separation. Its constant development is essential given that they offer performances that are similar or even superior to other common bonding methods such as welding, screwing or riveting.

There are different types of adhesives, such as Hotmelt. They are hot melt adhesives that, when the temperature rises, melt and apply to the surfaces to be glued and, when cooled, solidify by bonding components together. They are used for the binding of books and closing of cardboard boxes, among others.

Another important example is contact adhesives, based on rubbers. They have elastic and deformable characteristics, which allows them to be used in applications such as footwear.
